Sweet Ayurveda Sesame Flat Bread
Sweet Ayurveda Sesame Flat Bread
These are so delicious you can eat them as they are, but they can be eaten with sweet or savory dishes and work really well with dhals, curries, and veggie dishes.
They are best when eaten fresh after cooking and very moreish.
Ingredients.
- 1 A teaspoon of coconut sugar
- One and a half teaspoons of dried yeast
- Half a teaspoon of salt
- 400g of Flour of your choice, I use all different kinds and most work well.
- 3 Tablespoons of tahini
- 2 other teaspoons of coconut sugar or jaggery
- 1 Tablespoon of sesame oil
- Cinnamon to sprinkle on at the end.
Directions
Stir in the teaspoon of sugar and yeast in a cup of warm water and let it sit for 5 mins or so to ferment.
In a bowl sift the salt and flour and add the yeast mix and knead together to make a soft dough.
Cover it with a damp cloth and leave to rise for about 45 mins or so.
in another bowl mix together the tahini, sugar, and oil ensure its mixed well into a smooth paste.
Preheat the oven at Gas 6.
When the dough has risen knead it again and divide into 2 portions. Roll both of them out into thin oblong shapes and spread the tahini mix on each piece.
Roll the oblongs into a roll and then cut through to make about 12 circular pieces, then press them flat to make pattie shapes.
Brush each pattie with sesame oil and fry on both sides until they are golden brown.
Sprinkle some cinnamon powder
You can experiment with the shapes to suit what you want them for, but they are delicious just as a snack.
