All Dosha Frittata is a really easy and nutritious quick dish which can be adapted for all dosha types. Great for a light lunch or you can add extra veg or stuff a pitta bread with it for something more substantial.
The word masala simply means a combination of ground spices. According to Ayurveda the Kapha Dosha is a combination of the elements Earth and Water and governs the structure of the body, stabilises it and protects it. It has the quality of being heavy, slow, stuck, stubborn.
Quinoa (pronounced KEEN-wah) is a 7,000-year-old plant that originated in the mountainous regions of South America. While it is commonly known as an “ancient grain,†quinoa is technically not a grain or cereal grain, but a seed, and does not contain gluten.
Sattvic food is food that is nourishing, delicious, comforting, energising and benefits our health, our body, mind and spirit. To benefit from eating a sattvic diet we must be willing to reduce and avoid foods such as meat, fish, eggs, alcohol, caffeine, bleached flours, white sugar and other processed foods.
Creamy Kale & Puy Lentil Soup. I love Kale and use it in all types of cooking the health of benefits of kale are amazing and abundant. Rich in vitamins K, A and C, along with other vital nutrients, the health benefits of kale include detoxification, heart support, cancer prevention and a number of others.
Oat and Nut Flapjacks. Really easy to make and delicious, but check out the ingredients if you are sticking to eating for your dosha type. See my suggestions for each ingredient.
You can just eat them on their own as the masala mix and fresh herbs make this recipe. Spelt is pungent, heating, light and dry, so it has an effect on all doshas, its great for Kapha, ok for Pitta and ok for Vata in smaller quantities.
Easy Ginger Granola. Kapha should keep the bowl as dry as possible with no yogurt added. Serve with non-dairy milk and a spoon of nondairy yogurt. You can add some dried fruits if you like, mix in after it has been cooked and cooled.
Pitta, Quinoa, Feta and Avocado Salad. I have also added info for the other doshas, so don't be put off by the 'Pitta' title. Read through and adapt it for yourself.
A Short Journey into the 'Sweet' Taste of Ayurveda. Sweet tastes are the dominant taste, formed from the water and earth elements and especially useful for grounding the fearful nervous energy of Vata. These are cooling tastes, which can be good for the heat of a Pitta type and they inhibit digestion to some extent, especially in excess.

A Kapha - Squash & Celery Subji . Subji has a variety of names, but simply means a variety of vegetables cooked with spices, when we look at making subji for our specific dosha, we can choose from the vegetables and spices that are advantageous for Kapha
Spiced Sweet Potato with Tamari and Mustard Seed. Sweet potatoes in excess generally provoke Kapha, ensure that you do not overeat, but spices can bring Kapha into balance and cinnamon helps break up mucus, that is a common problem for Kapha types.

Warming Kind of Chai Body Tea - Kapha Reducing. This is a really quick, heating tea and great for keeping Kapha from being stuck in the tissues, good for weight loss.
This is not specifically for the Kapha 5 Day reducing programme. But if you have stuck to the programme you will be fine to try this. If you want to stay with Kapha reducing food, you are best to use the squash rather than the courgettes.
