According to Ayurveda as we move through the rainy season which holds many health problems as discussed in the Rainy Season section, we move into Autumn which according to the Vedic calendar is late Sept to Mid November.
As we move into the winter season, according to Ayurveda this is the early winter and we can become aware of what's needed before the harsher winter months set in. We want to be adding some good quality food to our meals as the digestive system acts like a burning fire during these colder months helping to distribute warmth to our bodies.

Everyone likes a curry and especially in the winter season. You will find lots of masala recipes on this site but I've included a simple curry mix, so easy to make and keep in a jar to use again.
Autumn brings with it the Vata qualities which will affect all doshas, it seems like common sense but if you look at the way this season affects us, you will begin to understand the concept of Ayurveda and the seasonal changes.

You can substitute different root veggies for this meal. This is a really warming hearty meal full of goodness. Its ok for all types, but don't use the chilli flakes for Pitta and reduce the garlic to a teaspoon.
