Here are some tips to stay healthy in the rainy season and enjoy the season to the full:
1. Avoid Excessive Green Leafy Vegetables:
In the rainy season, you should try not to eat green leafy vegetables in excess. These green leafy vegetables grow close to the ground and attract a lot of environmentally problematic chemicals that are carried by the wet season and the humidity.
2. Eat Light and Digestible Food:
Eating light and digestible food can make you feel light and active. Overeating or eating heavy food items can make the digestive system weak. This is mainly to accommodate a sluggish and weak digestive system, that can be created during this season. Cooked or steamed vegetables like pumpkin, squash, steamed salads, fresh seasonal fruits, pulses, corn, and oatmeal are all great options to keep your digestive tract in check in this season.
3. Try to Use Lighter Oils:
Lighter oils are better and easily digested by the body during this season. Oils like ghee, olive oil and sunflower oil are better than mustard oil, peanut oil, butter etc. as these are heavy and lead to the production of heat within the body. Heavy oils can also cause indigestion.
4. Take the Right Exercise:
Undertaking exercise gets your body system to respond to the environmental changes more quickly. Not every type of exercise is right for every person. While some are fit for yoga, some might not be fit for it. It is advised to know which type of exercise suits you the most in order to cope with the environmental changes.
5. Wash Fruits and Vegetables before you eat:
You might have heard of it several times now, but washing fruits and vegetables before eating is the best gift you give to your health. Properly washing fruits and vegetables before eating increases the health benefits and reduces any sort of health risks attached to it. If you wash it properly, it becomes free from harmful germs.
