Lavender, Mint & Lemon Tea

making herb teas.jpg

We have already talked about Peppermint tea in this section so let's just talk about Lavender and Lemon.

What we should understand is that a synergy is created by mixing the correct selection of herbs and spices the same goes for essential oils.

Lavender

Lavender Tea has many health benefits which include supporting tired muscles, treating insomnia, working as an antiseptic, maintaining cardiovascular health, treating indigestion, fighting inflammation, work as a detoxifier, improves respiratory health, treating acne, treating headache, restore body cells.

Apart from its cooling and calming benefits, lavender tea is good for relaxing wrinkles and helping to clear skin infections. We all know about Lavenders wound healing qualities and because of its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties, it also helps to soothe wounds and improve the development of scar tissue, which can be beneficial to healing the skin.

Lemon

I talk a lot about the benefits of lemon on this site but as an additional ingredient to other teas lemons add another dimension they are antibacterial and they can help treat acne, but for a topical effect you can slice a lemon, and squeeze the juice on your face. Lemons are rich in vitamin C and citric acid, so they can help with giving a glow to your skin. A word of warning don't use lemon all over the skin it will dry it out and may also burn sensitive skins, apply on a small area that needs attention like a spot or blackhead.

Directions for Tea

If you can use fresh herbs that always good.

  • 1 Sprig of fresh mint
  • 2 Sprigs of Lavender
  • A couple of slices of fresh lemon

Put everything in a small teapot and pour boiling water over the top and leave to infuse for 5 to 10 mins.

Add a little honey to sweeten.

Drink 2 or 3 cups per day.
